As permanent structures were finished, the need for more permanent furniture was created. Consoles and sideboards were a must for the large rooms of the beautiful Colonial townhouses, haciendas, commercial and government structures proliferating in the Colonial Style in the fledgling cities and pueblos all over Latin America.
